This is a boat wreck my assistant at work had told me about and I had visited in May 2011 but in overcast conditions. Two years later I retuned and took this image at dawn in better light. From comparing my images it was clear that there had been some deterioration in the 2 intervening years. The water channel makes it look like the boat had been dragged out to where it lay and the channel also leads the eye nicely. I find images of decay, abandonment and ruins quite interesting to photograph and these sort of subjects usually make great focal points. The boat was built in Essex in 1944 and in the 1980s it come to the Hamble River and was abandoned at its current location.
