Chilbolton Common

By early April the sun is setting a fair way around to the north and so is disappearing towards the right in this image. The sunset we had on this workshop was fantastic and I was very keen to include it if I could although turning away from a strong composition just to include a great sky doesn’t always work. In this case I used an ultra-wide 14mm focal length so that I could get the best of both worlds, maintain the key focal point and also include the sunset. The fact that the colour had spread right the way across to the cottage really helped.
