Almost sunset although in this image I’m looking east directly away from the sun. There is still some colour in the sky and soft light like this brings out pastel tones. I always check tide heights before and after a coastal visit so that I improve my chances of getting things better next time. For example from previous visits I knew that water doesn’t get to the groynes until 2m (based on the Calshot Castle Coastal Station) and the tide doesn’t reach the level shown here until 3m.
