I’d been discussing coming up to see these orchids with the warden 9 months in advance and we agreed that we would speak in the week before our visit so that he could give me up to date information on the best places to look for them. Unfortunately our messages kept crossing and we never spoke again and in the end we arrived at the vast dune complex on the western end of Lindisfarne without knowing where to look!
