Marsh Helleborine

Reference: FF11
Location: Greywell Moors, Hampshire
Gallery: Flowers (mainly Orchids),

While photographing Orchids at Noar Hill near Selborne I spoke to an 88 year old man who had been the warden of the reserve many decades previously. He told me about a site for Marsh Helleborines at Greywell Moors near Basingstoke. A few days later I headed out there and recalling his excellent directions I came across a group of these gorgeous flowers. Marsh Helleborine is a stunning orchid of wetland areas, a declining habitat and so these Orchids are hard to find. I shot with my lens wide at f3.5 to blur the background to focus attention on these stunning Orchids.
