This viewpoint needs a mid range tide level of around 2.5m to 2.8m and preferably a falling tide which usually makes it easier to stay on a composition for longer and means the rocks are usually wet. Lower than this level and you lose the simplifying effect of water and the foreground looks a little cluttered. Higher than this and it’s not possible to get this angle as the beach is narrower at this point and you risk being swept away. When I bring groups here I pick a date when these tidal conditions coincide with sunset at this westerly looking viewpoint.
