Another reason I don’t particularly like blue skies is that you need to be extra careful about sun angles as having to include a high sun in your composition is fraught with difficulty and your own shadow means you can’t include foreground interest if the sun is directly behind you. I thought I’d try for this shot anyway and in the end blended 5 exposures in Lightroom. My lens was as clean as I could make it but I still needed to repair a few ugly flare issues.
