Scarce Blue-tailed Damselfly

Latchmore Brook in the New Forest is one of the best locations for the very rare Scarce Blue-tailed Damselfly. Getting close enough to get a photograph was very tricky as the insects favoured the middle of the wet flush where rafts of the flower Marsh St Johns Wort provided a very unstable mat. This male was engrossed in eating a Lacewing.
