Wilverley Plain

I had photographed this log at sunrise in overcast conditions just before Christmas and so with a clearer sky forecast I decided to head back to Wilverley Plain. I parked the car 25 minutes before sunrise and was slightly surprised to see vivid pinks and oranges already well developed in the eastern sky. Anxious not to miss the show I jogged the 1/2 mile and quickly set up. Controlling the contrast in a natural way is particularly difficult especially looking directly into the sunrise.
