Our holiday coincided with yet another Virginian heat wave and included the first day ever in Virginia when the temperature stayed above 85 degrees for the whole 24 hours. This photo was taken from a bridge over the river. I stood with a towel around my shoulders dripping sweat on to my tripod. I had tried for a photo of the Mill on a couple of evenings previously but was thwarted each time by featureless clear skies although the humid thundery conditions this evening encouraged some build up of cloud which enhanced the composition.
